Maison Margiela, the Parisian fashion house, has announced the launch of its MetaTABI NFT collection in collaboration with The Fabricant, a digital fashion house. This collection, supported by Brave Virtual Xperiences (BVX) and Aura Blockchain Consortium, introduces a token-gated product experience that merges physical and digital realms.

Scheduled for release in late March 2024, the MetaTABI collection features two editions: a super-limited series in white (15 units) accompanied by a physical Tabi boot, and a limited edition in black (1500 units) accompanied by a custom-made leather wallet. These digital collectibles offer various benefits across digital, physical, and mixed-reality platforms, reflecting a shift in luxury brand engagement strategies through web3 products and loyalty programs.

Stefano Rosso, Chairman of Maison Margiela and CEO of BVX, emphasized the importance of embracing digital innovation in the luxury sector. Rosso highlighted the significance of experimentation with digital realms to advance the industry and express the brand's identity, marking Maison Margiela's first foray into web3 initiatives linked to physical products.

The collaboration with The Fabricant underscores a shared commitment to exploring digital fashion's new frontier, aiming to extend Maison Margiela's creative expression into the metaverse and strengthen its connection with the global community.

The MetaTABI collection offers a range of utilities for its holders, including augmented reality (AR) previews of the Tabi boot and integration with metaverse exploration and gaming. Holders of the MetaTABI NFT will also gain priority access to future web3 initiatives by Maison Margiela.

This digital drop will be facilitated on The Fabricant's platform, utilizing a Multi Token Minter smart contract developed by Aura Blockchain Consortium to ensure a secure and innovative minting experience. Prior to the public launch, select groups, including Maison Margiela VIC members, The Fabricant community, and subscribers to pre-sale channels, will have the opportunity to mint the MetaTABI NFTs.

The Tabi NFT collection represents just the beginning of Maison Margiela's digital roadmap, aiming to embrace new technologies like augmented reality (AR) to enhance the fashion experience. With the support of The Fabricant and Aura Blockchain Consortium, Maison Margiela continues to push boundaries and explore the intersection of fashion and technology.
